It sounds like you were surprised to hit his reserve. He states;"$500 RESERVE" in a large font in the body of his listing and in answer to a question at the end of his listing, he states that his reserve is $500. It looks like a nice car and a good buy for someone. He is a Ford guy, so he probably just wants to get rid of it and figures that a Lark can't be worth anything <G>.

I saw the $500 reserve quote, but thought he may have intended it to be a deposit, thus my probe bid.

I don't mean to brag but I got my '64 Daytona for free. It's actually kind of a cool story. When I was a freshman in high school I was helping my best friend build his '66 Chevy pickup and I was looking to buy a '69 C10 from his dad. Well his Dad came up to me one day after school one day when I was in the garage and told me he had a hell of a deal. He then told me that a buddy of his was looking to get rid of an old Studebaker that had been sitting in his field for the past 10 years. Me being the neive 15 year old that I was had never heard of a Studebaker, so I went and got online and looked them up. Needless to say I immediatly fell in love. I worked on it throughout high school but with the little money I was making I never got it finished. Now after 4 years in the Marine Corp I'm back home and I finally get to finish it. I know it's kinda off subject but just thought I would share my story.

This car was on Ebay in March with a more detailed description. I remember there was something about a clunking noise when the car was being braked to a stop and the owner couldn't pin point it. Just thought I would share with you guys who are looking to buy this car.

I found the link in my email, I emailed him about the reserve when it was first on ebay. Heres the Item number: 4624961122

Hey, Jeremy(1964 Daytona),

My philosophy is "Them that can brag without lyin', let 'em brag!").

Thanks for your service to our country. Post some pictures when you can.

That looks like it may be the same person I bought my 1961 Lark from, or at least in the same town. My car was just as he described and he said he liked to do the body and nechanical work but not the interior.

Thanks for posting that item number, 55Studebaker.

I did an eBay search with that number and saw the previous time it was sold, for $1075, by the same seller! Apparently it was not sold, just that someone had a winning bid and reneged on the deal. I would bet he is eager to get rid of it this time, moreso than before.

I have a fully functioning transmission for that Lark, torque converter to driveshaft if someone is interested. The BW worked fine but I opted for an ODrive replacement:). It is in my shop and I'm moving 300 miles away :(so speak up soon if you can use it.

along the same lines, I have a functional '63 MY FOM that I pulled from my '55 coupe that is available if any east coasters need one. I think Dale McPherson knew someone that might need it but I haven't heard from him.
