Wow ... thats got to be rare, an R1 /4 speed / 4 door? I wonder if it
was a police car, or detectives car?? Seems like a strange option set
for a civilian order. Reminds me of our 259 64 Commander 4 door. Poor
thing, we tried to give it away, no one wanted it, solid rust free
California car - went to the crusher, of course that was mid 80's.[V]

Someone added the R1 emblems.
The seller will send a copy of the build sheet; if you ask. "R1" appears only as a code in the shipping instructions.
The serial # stamped on the engine is the same as shown on the build sheet. It's "P..."; which indicates a normal 289. An R1 would be "JT...". I'm told the tag bolted on next to the serial # indicates it's a replacement engine. It may have come with no #, and been stamped with the original, when installed.
The car was originally an automatic. It was very well equipped.
It's an interesting car. That's definitely the way to photograph an AFB!

The seller is a smart cookie. He knows it not a factory R1/4 speed since he's had several E-mails, but he can say he's not sure, and let the bidders think they snagging a rare car.
