When it's a nice day in the Pacific Northwest, there is no place more beautiful on the planet (I think that nice day was on a Tuesday last year ).

I HAD to take S2D out for a little cruise. Found some good spots for pictures. HAD to post a few here .

    More here...

That's one of the things that fascinates me about the PacNW, being able to sit in a boat at sea level and look at snow-capped mountains!

          Dick,

not only is your car the one mine wants to be like when it grows up, but I am now inspired again to go back outside and scrub another couple feet of frame :/

(shouldn't have taken it apart, but it will drive SO much better when I get it back together...)

[8D] Well defines the word classic. Beautiful in every way.
Too bad Dick couldn't have had, say, a 1953 Buick Super hardtop and a maybe a 1953 Chrylser New Yorker hardtop parked on either side...you know, for "reflection" as to how advanced were The Big Three in '53! [xx(] ...and to frost the cake, maybe a video of the Buick wallowing around on a road course, trying to keep up with Dick's Stude. Ha! [:0] BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

                    Matthew,
I have a '46 M15A-28 (short wheelbase one ton, flat bed, stake side, dually). It's got a 305 Chevy and Chevy truck 4 speed, but is otherwise bone stock. It is actually shorter than a new Silverado extended cab thanks to Studebaker's advanced cab forward design for the M trucks. I also have a '63 R1 Hawk that will be for sale shortly (not done playing with it .

The engine in the black car is a 365 HP 327 out of a '65 Corvette. Flat top pistons instead of the 11.5/1 pop ups so I don't have to fill up at airports . T-10 close ratio 4 speed. The rest of the running gear and suspension is stock '54 Studebaker.

Thanks, Don. No grief yet [8D]. I know Washington "requires" a front plate. I don't have one on this Stude or either of my daily drivers. Rolling the dice, but hoping I get away with it a while longer.

...and today was pretty special that way. The Canadian Coast Range, Cascades, Mt. Baker, and the Olympics were all super clear today from Bellingham. All covered with snow. Like living in the Alps [^].

How about a "beautiful" '53 Chevy...and Chevy out sold Studebaker by about 10 to 1 (or more). There is no accounting for taste .

                              Dick,

it looks just the same from behind the wheel without doing any of that stuff

Actually I wouldn't mind doing a '53 front clip, but I just blew my "big" car money for the year on a R1 motor and also a new steering box, which seem to me to be more satisfying
