Being fairly new (2 months of ownership) to the wonderful world of Studebakers, excuse me if I ask as question that's been asked before...

What's up with the white/off-white wheels?
Why did Studebaker choose that color?

Many early Studebakers had multicolor wheel choices, often body color and even pin striped. With full wheel covers becoming more common, it only made sense to save a few dollars by painting the wheels a common color. Off white looks fine with any body color.

And with drum brakes they didnt have to worry so much about brake
dust buildup! Didnt they change to black wheels on the disc cars??

Not that I am aware of and not on any of the 1963-1964 Studebakers (including Avantis) with factory disc brakes that I have owned.
