  • What would be the disadvantage!

And I think I already asked this but too lazy to do a search..

Rear end on top of the springs as compared to the bottom.

I was thinking about adding shocks instead of that funky looking bracket ......>>>> Which I am sure it does a great job!!

The driveshaft would be at a different angle.

But what would it seriously do to the front end?
Would it put too much stress On driveshaft and front end?

Getting ready to take springs and rear off, and was thinking also about taking out the axles and cover & giving it a look.

Is there something I should be aware of , as far as disassembling the rear?

Anybody make chrome covers for this rear?

    How bout some Pro's and Con's >><<[?]>><<

Let me get this straight You wanna put the rear axle back where it belongs (on top of the leaf springs?[:0]

Funky "bracket"??? You talking about the Houdaille shock unit?[?]

Not sure of what youe are trying to do with the rear axle mount, but it does have have to mount on top the springs. BTW, I stock the chrome cover for the rear, $40/$8.00 UPS. ( For the type 44 axle used on most V8's.)

I thought about putting the rear end on the bottom of the springs Not the top where it is.
It would raise the back up a bit.
Right now it's in it's original postion <<>> Springs under the rear

        What if it was visa-versa...........

*******Funky "bracket"??? You talking about the Houdaille shock unit?*******

WHat ever it is called ....Looks "funky 2 me"

I was predicting a June completion BUT I keep added more modifications every time.

I am gonna try my first "flame" job ....I have painted several cars but this will be my first intro. into air brushing.

Been practising the art all over my garage walls.........

Gezz no-wonder I never get anything done huh>?

thinking about waiting until it gets a bit warmer out so I can open the garage doors............ Damn pud dust is everywhere!!

So I may work on my conversion to 12 V and order my h20 pump.

I picked up my alternator yesterday starter is re-built with an external solenoid. Alternator is rated @ 130 Amps.should be more then enough to power my electronics.

Also gonna put a fuel cell in place of the gas tank.... Or if the gas tank I have cleans up enough I may keep it fer now. There is so much Gunk in the gas tank rust and dirt rust and dirt!!

I will Find out tomorrow how well the pressure washer cleans the tank up!!

                            Goodnight!![|)]
