I've got a couple of those hub caps Matt. They're for a Simca. A french-built import of the early 60s.

Since I collect Stude hub caps, I've had several folks kindly contribute one of those to my display.[B)] Nice gesture and I DO have a couple of different versions just because they DO look like they belong on a Stude![}]

I agree with you there. I've looked at every model car Stude ever built, trying to figure out what this thing fits. Then I thried to think of every other car that starts with a "s". Never heard of a Simca though. Once again, thanks for clearing that up. Should have knew that you would have known...

Simcas were imported by Chrsyler in the early-mid 60s as part of the first "compact" ar boom. In fact, I think the firms was the French arm of Chrysler...like Rootes in the U.K.

I had a Simca for my first car,, tiny little four door, get away car for watermelon stealing, doing the booneys we hit a bird while airborne, carrying seven people was commom, sniffle,.

I have fond memories of doing zany teen-ager antics in a Simca[]. One of my boyhood buddies used to use his Mom's Simca all the time when we were out razin' heck[}]. It was either that or his Dad's 61 Rambler American.
Buddy's name was Bob as well and I remember Bob would stomp the pedal in that little, flathead-powered American and the two of us would exaggeratingly feign being being thrown over the seat backs by the "pretend" acceleration.[:I]
