  • Mess with the judges!

Running thru ads on ebay, I saw this pic from a 1955 brochure:

I was just thinking how much fun it would be to mess with the show judges by painting a frame & driveline yellow, installing it under a car, and then claiming it was originally from a factory photo-shoot [}]

OK, Trivia Buffs: What is the immediate outstanding clue that indicates the chassis and running gear pictured in that brochure are, in fact, 1955 model year, not 1954 or earlier? BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

            Bob,

the engine (well, parts of it anyway) is painted Alberta Blue, which was only used for the '55 model year.

(finally, a trivia question I can answer!)

Close, Nate, but they could have painted a 1954 engine Alberta Blue and used a 1954 engine/chassis. After all, the frame isn't a production frame color, either.

There is a BIG indicator that the chassis/driveline pictured is 1955 that has nothing to do with color: We all acknowledge that the photo is of components that have been specially painted for a display unit. [Nate: I'm sure you know what it is; think hard because it is very obvious!] BP

                    Dual exhaust pipes.

Wasn't '55 the first year for dual exhausts?
