  • Bought a rag top

I was surprised that this car did not make reserve, so I couldn't pass up the second chance offer that was less then my high bid. I guess the little six really hurts the value, but it seems like a very nice car to me.:

Pretty little thing John, to bad for the six but then if it had an eight you wouldn't have got it for that price.
This reminds me of what Pete Booz said in the Oct 05 issue of TW, he could never understand why anyone would order a new Studebaker Lark with the six. Under many conditions it would actually give worse fuel mileage than the bullet proof V-8.
Ive always wondered the same thing, since I believe the V-8 only cost about 100 dollars or less more than the six.

I thought about tossing in a R2 4 speed I have here. Even as a clone, it would be a high dollar car with that setup. Then again, that's a 5K driveline investment.

You must be looking at a cached one on your computer. Mine shows it ended.

The car has a NJ plate, but the windshield stickers look like NY reg. and inspection. Did this car previously belong to Patane?

I do not know who the previous owner was, I bought it from George B. Shields, Jr.
