Yes, it's a modified Studebaker, but all the bits are from a 61 Hawk (except the custom interior). Here's the 'before' pix of my new 54 coupe that my friend Sal in Ca.is prepping for Ebay.

Hey john, you don't have to apologize because it's a modified. Someone was just smart enough to "save it from the restorers" [}:)]

Seriously, looks like a very nice car. Sits right. Looks like it might have started life as a Champion? Did it get ALL the V8 parts from the doner Hawk (brakes, rear end, etc.)?

A quick peek under the car says yes, but we have not had it in the air yet and yes, it was a Champion. The 4.11 rear with OD sure makes for a fun first gear, even with the 2 barrel. With the OD, Sal drove it home at 80 MPH plus and it wantec to go faster. I like the car, because it was not butchered with the engine swap. You could even make the 289 look like the 232 without much work, but I'd go the restro/rod route.
