  • My 194? champion 4 doors.

Seeking my grand father garage i found this car few days ago.
    This car is in morroco.
I wish to have information about it and on the way i can rebuild it.

    from far in the garage:

    closer

    better and better

    the engine

    dashboard

    dirty, but in good condition

a '48/'49 Land Cruiser by the looks of her. Needs some TLC but the body looks to be pretty decent. Not a lot of salt on the roads in Morocco I would imagine .. [8D]

what is the gauge on the steering column ? Doesn't look OEM.

in fact the car is a champion, i have a logo on the dash bord.
no salt on the road but sea side (casablanca).
the question is on the year.
it has double windshield front and rear.
      the condition is preaty good.
i have the luke that in this country, work is very cheap, i can have for 250$ a body specialist working a whole month for me.

The car pictured is a 1948 Studebaker Champion four door sedan.

It is not a Land Cruiser because a LC would have the larger engine, one piece windshield, etc.
1947-1949 Champions are similar, but there is enough difference in the grilles to identify the car in question as a 1948.

It appears to be quite complete and solid. It would not make fiscal sense to restore that car in the USA, but at the labor rates you quote, most anything would be a candidate for a redo.

Start by joining the Studebaker Drivers Club (this site). You will find many vendors and parts for that car are reasonable and plentiful.

48 to 49 didnt change that much did it?

The difference I see is mine has a bullet on the hood ......... I think that is what you call it. it does not have the big round bullet ........it is only on the center of the hood and smaller.

The one I bought I paid 1200.00 for and it has 64000 miles ......... And not to take away from these pics. but mine is in better shape.
