50 cyl head

The parts list for a 50 Stude (9G) lists the cylinder head as part #529278 but shows part #529279 HC for use over 5000'. I assume the HC stands for high compression but does anyone know the specs for that head? Also, are these heads available anywhere as NOS?

Just have your stock head milled, same deal, less money. If want, buy a aluminum aftermarket head, they are available.

Thanks. Milled how much? I'm looking into ways to get the best performance possible here in CO. I have the correct metering rod for the carb and am looking at the head. Any other ideas?

That 279 head is 7.5 to one whereas the 278 is 7 to 1 Ger.
