  • Levers and Reach Rods - column shift

I have two '62 Champs that are hopefully going to make one good Champ one day. Presently the project is to restore the column shift to working order. The reach rods have been re-installed in the project tranny. The gearshift lever is back on the stearing column. The problem is the levers in the engine compartment. One moves the other won't. Also, when the shift lever is pulled back it does'nt snap back. Can this column be dis-assembled to fix? Is that wise?
    Thanks in advance... As always...
