This also poses a question. What would be involved in making a 245cid from a smaller displacement Commander six?

I've said this here before - I was looking at one of these in a Fresno wrecking yard some years ago. Guy was willing to sell it to me for $450 IIRC. My thoughts were to fix it up and use it on one of the contract mail routes in this area.
Of course, even tho I (supposedly) had "veterans preferance" in being selected to run a route, there were other factors that worked against me (even tho I aced the carriers test that they made me take). As to those "other factors" - this is not the forum to discuss them and I have long since gotten over the fact that I didn't get a route.
In spite of that, I've often thought I might like to have one of these to just get around in. Anyone know what was the standard rear ratio in these? I've heard they're pretty squirrely in high winds or over about 50 MPH!
Maybe I could buy this thing and use it to run an ice cream route![:0] Hey kiddies! Try our Lark bar or the Hawk Sundae. Or how about a Champsicle? How about the Starlight Scoop with the optional chocolate hard-topping?[]
