hey guys, i am pretty sure my vacuum advance has had it, is it possible to take the vacuum advance off of a different distributor (chevy 350 distributor) and put it on the stude?

You can buy the right vacuum advance for your car Benny. I think Studebaker International has 'em, depending on the model. To use n advance from another car it would have to be able to position the advance plate in exactly the same position and have exactly the same "throw" as the original. There's a vacuum adjustment on the original, but I've yet to see one on later model advances, (not that they aren't out there). The Stude advance should start moving at 5 - 8 HG
