Mattex Trunk Mats - Color

Another color question...

Were all the 1953 Mattex trunk mats the same color?
If they all were not the same color, did they match the interior carpet color?
If they did not match the interior carpet color, how can I determine the color used in my car (original mat is gone)?

I appreciate any help offered.

It is my understanding that they are all the same. Check with Rene at Phantom Auto Parts, he had some made a couple of years ago.

They are all the same color. It is many years since I have seen a NOS one for sale and I sold my last good usable one several years ago. Rene/Phantom has good reproduction trunk mats for your '53.

Rene used to make the mats in the 4 or 5 colors to cover all 53-57 ? cars, but can no longer find the material to weave. If he does remake them, they may go up from the old $300 plus price.
