  • Are You a Member of your Local Club?

I Brought this Thread back up as a reminder to all the new Folks on the Forum. The importance of belonging to your Local Chapter too.

I've been curious lately since I've become the President of our club. Been noticing that alot of people belong to the National Club but not their Local. In order to survive and thrive we all need to stick together to Promote the Studebaker Marquee. Being a card carrying member of the National Organization is great but we need everyone to participate on the local level as well. I have made a personal commitment to raising awareness about Studebakers and I challenge each and everyone to do the same. We have a local Zone meet coming up in September that promises to be a really great opportunity for everyone to puff out their chest and show us how much you love your Stude.

I'm an member of the national club, I've considered joining the "Local" but it meets so far north I think it's part of the Oklahoma branch. [xx(] I promise to look them up right now and see what I need to do to join them. Then I would be the ONLY one posting on this forum from my "Local" Keep up the good work Anne.

I highly encourage everyone to join, not only the SDC but, their local Chapter. The local folks are a great resource. They have experience about local service providers, body shops, parts suppliers, chrome shops, engine rebuilders, etc who are savvy and supportive of Studebaker maintenance and restoration. That may be secondary to the many lasting friendships I've acquired. In addition, I've gone many places and had many experiences as part of our monthly excursions I would not have thought of doing on my own.

                Randy,

The North Texas chapter meets the 3rd weekend of the month, usually at the Golden Corral in The Colony. Would love to have you join us.

I find myself in the same place as Randy has been.
Where I live in Northern Arizona, the only 2 chapters
are a long ways south from my barn. I have been a member
of the Grand Canyon Chapter, until recently....It is
hard to be actively involved when there is a 3 to 4 hour
drive to get to the events....sorta like being an orphan.

Yeah Its just my Nature to stir the pot. If I can help the Membership rosters by a few words I'm more than happy to do it. Our former president enjoyed running into me in Selma Today he drug me around to every Studebaker person he could find. So I was just following up with the forum members.
