Does anyone know the ebay bidder Snowy Buffalo? He seems to bid on every truck I like but never buys.

I've been asked if it was me 'cause everybody knows that I live in Buffoonalo, NY Arkie, but it's not. I emailed the guy and he never answered, mebbe he's just not ready to admit he lives here! [B)]

My ebay name went from rock502 to racingstudebakers.

Well, of course, he's entitled to bid as he pleases, but he never wins anything. I guess I'm just a bit saddle sore from guys who just "play" on ebay and drive the bids higher. Sometimes a guy can get lucky even if an item doesn't reach reserve and the seller will send a second chance deal at a lower price. So, that's my beef and i'm sticking to it.. <g>

I gotta tell you, all of these vehicles are getting to high for anybody to buy. There needs to be some serious thought given to where all of this leaves the "average" fellow when it comes to purchasing an in fair shape Stude. and restoring it. Ten years from now there will be nobody left but the rich and famous with cars , and we all know these folks don't or can't do their own work to keep them going. I realize evrybody has heard this type of crying before and I know some folks just get on here and bid with no intention of buying. Maybe us Studebaker folks need to get off E-Bay for awhile and go back to buying and selling with a member only rule or something? I know I,m ready to do something? Thanks for taking time to read about my frustrations. Good luck Steve.

          haynie,

I'm not defending high prices at all. But Studes have lagged behind BIG 3 cars for so long that it was hard for some to take. Those "some" would be the one's who felt Studes should be worth as much (if not more) than your average Chevy or Ford. Well, now they're seeing their wishes come true. It hurts me like it does you but let's face it - the day when Studes were regarded as virtually worthless is fading into the distance.
I can remember turning down a really gorgeous 60 LArk hardtop that ran like a Swiss watch, for an exhorbitant $100 bucks! MAn! If I could just find that deal again! But that was late 70s when Studes were darn near literally a dime a dozen and parts were next to nuthin'.
Time marches on pal. Things change. Who woulda thought in 1970 that we'd ever gladly pay $25K for a Toyota??? Studes are starting to get the recognition we all knew they should have gotten ages ago. And there's no turning back.
If you've got a time travel machine, we can go back to the days of cheap Studebakers. Otherwise, we're stuck with how things are progressing.[V]

          Miscreant at large.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Well, the "mystery" has been solved!! "SnowyBuffalo" is actually from Independence, Missouri and has been an SDC member for 25 years. He and I just happen to have the same taste in vehicles. Seems like a real nice guy. I'll leave it to him to say his name if he cares to do so. I'm looking forward to getting to know him now

Great news! Missouri huh? He must be a transplant, (like I'm gonna be), he was smarter, much faster than I was! I hope that you invited him to join us here?

Sonny, he already knows about this site. He had seen my post here. That's the reason he emailed me. I think he's just sort of the quiet type mainly.
