Yes, I bought a set from the guy last year. The plans make a very good place to start and answer many questions. The 15-page article came from a 1935 book about building race cars by Ray Kuns. Last fall, I managed to also snag an original large blue print from the plans.

The funny thing about the plans is that they assume that you can just go down to your local junkyard and pick up all the bits and pieces. It has proven to be fairly difficult to find a number of the parts, though I keep making progress by making parts. The last of the carb linkage parts are due in a couple of weeks. Here are two engines I've been building up. I've got extra aluminum intakes if anyone else want to add some power to a 1929-42 President/Commander 250 cubic inch engine. I'm also having some 3/4 race cams made for these engines. I think the intakes will also fit the larger 337 cu in engine, as well as the Commander 6's from 1929-60. They'll take most any 1-barrel carb, though I'll be using EX-23's.

Gary I sure hope that you will bring that Indy car to the Atlantic Zone meet in Gettysburg, 07/13-16/2011 next year. It'd make a nice contribution to the show field.
