  • Studebaker on TV-carspotters alert

On Wednesday, May 5, 2010, I had two of fifteen cars at a San Pedro California film shoot for the AMC cable TV series Mad Men. They are currently shooting season 4.
I had my 1952 Studebaker Land Cruiser and my 1960 Edsel on location with me.
My Studebaker was also in season 1.

In season 4 it was parked across the street from a car character Dan Draper got out of, and was parked down the street in another scene.
Other cars to see in that episode are a blue Henry J, two early 1950's Packards, a white Plymouth Valiant, a 1958 Chevrolet, a Chevy Nova station wagon, a Ford retractable, and a red and white Ford of the same era.
That episode will be fun for car spotters.
If you watch that show, now you will know what to look for.

We've dot to get Dan..or perhaps Roger (to go along with this trophy wife)...into a new Avanti.
The perfect car for a rising Madison Avenue type.

Sure, I'd do it....as long as it's [u]not</u> the episode where Dan's wife gets even for all his affairs with a car bomb...

Or shoots his eye out with the BB gun. (first season) All while looking beautiful.

I had wondered if anyone among the forum watched this series, I did see a Studebaker in the first season, a 47-52? (not strong in my recognition of these years).

Smooth cat though, wish I could negotiate my salary the way he did.....45,000 a year up from 30,000 in 1960! []

Season 1, was your car in the left hand corner of a neighborhood shot? Up against the curb?....Buick?? was driving on the residential street in front of the Draper residence?
            If so.....I saw it!
