  • a new project, 51 Champion w/pic

Well I just bought a new project. It is a 1951 Champion 2 door. It was a project that was never completed. I am the third owner and I will finish it. It came with a new 6 cyl. crate engine, dual carb. set up, a T5 5 speed trans. and much more. I have to go a different way with a V8 and auto trans. I have most of the parts I need so the restoration should go smoothly. I hope. I have done a few of this type so I know I will have to redo some things but it looks like the fellow who did most of the work did a nice job. The second and third guys didn't do as well so I have to redo a few things. Anybody need a complete champ engine and trans set up?

It's going to be nice. I just got me a 51 2 door and got a new wiring harness in and about ready to roll. I just talked to the guy that makes the dual carb setups and adapter plates for the s-10 trans. What was done to the front end? Was it a whole new front end or is it setting on a new frame?

The front end was completely rebuilt as was everything under the car including the brakes. it has Studebaker disk brakes set up on the front.

With a clean motor and tranny, I'd say you are off to a great start!
Good luck with the build, and keep us informed.
