Alabama SDCer visited by American Pickers?

Was that an SDC member being "visited" by the American Pickers guys early Sunday afternoon, April 25?

Most of us can enjoy The History Channel's American Pickers. Sure, the show has it's limitations, but I enjoy the entertainment nonetheless.

On today's show (this segment may have been aired earlier for the first time, but I had not seen it), they visited "a guy in Alabama" with many old cars in his yard. Maybe half of them were Studebakers, and he talked about them. One or two Champ trucks, 1961 Lark VIII hardtop, 1962 Lark sedan, 1957 sedan of some sort, and many others. All looked beyond hope in terms of restoration, but good parts cars at least.

This guy had to have enough Studes to be an SDC member. Anyone know who it is? He was maybe 60-65 years old with a small, white, handlebar moustache. They spent time discussing a Volkswagen Thing he had in his stash. [8D]BP

I saw that episode a while back. I found myself wondering how many of those cars were in good shape when they were parked. At least he kept them out of a scrap yard.

I couldn't get an audio but I watched it for a while. Those guys must not have known the value of that 50 bullet they pulled out of the box. They just put it back. It looked like it was in good shape.

Alabama had 117 SDC members, as of the 2009 SDC Roster, so there is a good chance that he is a member or at least some member knows of the cars.

I just watched the show. Pretty cool. The stude guy said his name was Joe Biggs (or Briggs) at the beginning of his segment.

Bob, There is also a '64 Daytona Hardtop visable right when they pull in the driveaway. It would be interesting to find out more about his hidden "treasures"
