Yeah, I thought about that, too. To what standard was it "restored?"

I haven't seen that much herculon since the 1970s.

This car isn't my taste. I prefer cars that are truly restored or original. I admire the passion and talent behind a rodded vehicle, but I have never desired one. I just prefer them the way they were meant to be.

Nicely done, but not my taste. I prefer restoration back to original.

"Restored" has become a very loose term. But it is a very nice rod.

Definitely awell done "Street Rod" My guess is that it was completed about 1994 judging by the moter, wheels, and interior.
But you can bet someone is going to get a great deal on this car, as you would never build it at todays costs for what it will sell for on ebay.[:I]

Another 1954 with 1953 grille bars.

The "anti-lock brakes" were removed from the listing while I looked at it this afternoon.

Hey it doesn't say restored back to original. Sweet ride and apparantly well liked by the public, what with all those trophies.

Looks like the car has done it's share of promoting the brand. And done it well even with that pebble stuck in the thread of the right rear tire.

People that know me know I'm not a "purist". I just have a problem with the word "restored" as when you change the drive train and basically only have some sheet metal left from the original product.
                        Nice custom, but not restored.

In the closest dictionary to me, "restore...1 bring back to the original state by rebuilding, repairing, etc..."

Thanks, Gary, I never thought to look......

The body may have been restored, but that dash was just mangled, never mind the GM muscle.

Modified, certainly, Resto-Mod, maybe, perhaps reconditioned, but not restored.

So if he bought it modified and restored it back to original as built by PO then it would technicly be Restored right. Of course there's such a thing as common speak and then there's dictionary speak. Which is most used?

I guess my point about the whole thread is from the looks of the amount of thropies he's won. He apparantly has brought the brand more attention out in the public eye than most have. Dispite the fact that the radiator cap print is not the correct color.
