I took delivery of this LS1 over two years ago in it's original crate.

We fired it up for the first time today [:p]. WOW

It's muscular sounding but quiet. Kinda like Chuck Norris. Capable of whippin a** but gentle enough not to. ;)

It runs so smooth, I could balance a nickle on its edge on it while it's running. [:0]

That engine should serve you well into the future. I for one will be waiting for the day you get out for the maiden trip, with a camera on the bumper [8D]. Keep at it, summers almost here.

Cool beans!:D[8D] Um... what's an LS1? It doesn't quite look... Studebaker. The aircleaner is definately in an... odd position. Looks almost like someone wanted to rig it for an air scoop through the bullet-nose, which would be kinda cool.;):D Impossible what with the radiator in the way, but what the heck?:D

Well, the engine looks super, Jon. How does the rest of the car look so far? You know me, insatiable appetite for pictures of other people's cars.:D;)[:o)]

thanks anyway George, but Bess has more than enough pep for me. Besides, I'd better spend the money on paint before any mods like that.;)

quote: Um... what's an LS1?

LS1

The LS1 was rated at 350 hp (260 kW) and 365 lbft (495 Nm) since 2001 (LS6 Intake), 1997-2000 350 lbft (470 Nm) in North America, depending on the application.

It's a cheaper alternative that makes horsepower like a Studebaker R3.

And you can get parts at every FLAPS.

Maybe not original, but a dang fine, tire-smoking motor.

Jon, You did it son! Can't wait to see it. Will it be ready to drive to Fair Oaks?

Congratulations
