  • another new guy 63 cruiser

    Howdy, I don't know anything about Studebakers but last night i pulled home a 63 Cruiser. An old guy that lives down the road is moving and selling out. I found this car in a shed where its been parked since 84. he was going to haul it in for scrap! it has 95k actual miles,all original parts and not much rust. v8. was this a good find? I'm going out to wash the 20 years of dust and bird droppings off now.

    want a 67,68,or69 firebird convertable someday

                I have a cruiser myself, they are great cars with lots of room I them espically in the back seat. Welcome to the club and while your at it why not regester you Crusier on the Crusier Regestry. Go to the SDC home page, on the bottom left hand side of the page hit the "links" button, on that page scroll down till you find the Crusier Regestry link. Some photos of your 63 would be nice, even before and after you wash her.

                Mike

                    There is even a junkyard in and around a swamp near Palisades!
                    At least there was last year.

                        Good to see the new Stude owners coming in the room! You will find the forum to be informative & entertaining & a great bunch of people. Dont feel shy & any questions you might have just ask away. Some have been brought up on Studebakers & their knowledge they freely share will amaze you. Joining the national club brings you the monthly issue of Turning Wheels, which in itself if worth more than the cost of membership. Have fun & welcome!

                          How I miss my '63 Cruiser.[V]
                          Not enough time;
                          Not enough money;
                          Not enough garage space.

                          If it's a solid car you've procured a gem.

                              Welcome! A 1963 Cruiser (not a Lark) is a nice car. It comes standard with a 289 V8 and a nice interior.

                              My father in law purchased a 1963 Cruiser new. I owned a one owner 1963 Cruiser from 27K miles to 32K miles on it. I sold it to a relative of a good friend for their daughter to drive to college. She used it for years. I do not know what happened after that. It probably rusted away.
