  • Nameplate STILL needed for 55 truck hood side

    SEE UPDATE BELOW!! [}][}]
I'm helping a guy with a '55 pickup. He's getting ready to paint. He has ONE studebaker nameplate for the [u]side</u> of the hood. He wants to know if I can find him another one, or if he should leave it off and fill the mounting holes before he paints. I told him I'd try and find him one.
Post a photo if you can, and e-mail me off-forum with the price.

    Thanks

Hey! I'm willing to trade one for a repairable hood for a 55 truck!
Really, he needs to keep the trim pieces. I may be a bit influenced by the one I have owned for over 35 years, but I think the 55's had about the best looking ornaments of the C cab series. I have another '55 that I am attempting to put back together as what I call a "Warrior" and want to find a hood that is not as beat up as the one I have.

Don't have one for sale....but a beautiful NOS one just went for about $40 on eBay last week. Tell him to keep the holes, and keep his eyes open!!

I've got some of those. I could probably do you a nice NOS one for about $45.00 plus shipping.

Bo, thanks for the offer of NOS. I don't know that he'll go for it though.

          Anyone have decent used ones?

Assuming the forum e-mail is working...

John, I also find the '55s my favorite design. Clean grille, nice hood ornaments, big back window, one-piece windshield, and most importantly...NO HOLE IN THE HOOD! [B)] Just my preference. Yours may vary.

                UGH!!!

                Doesn't that beat all heck!!

Between correspondance with Bo Markham and my friend-of-friend truck owner, a bunch of YOU folks on the Forum purchased Bo's nameplates before I was able coordinate between the parties.[B)] (Not blaming anyone, no one is at fault.)

So...I still need one good used oval nameplate for the side of the hood on a '55 Stude pickup. Can anyone help me?
