So, who won the Daytona? I was so shocked that it wasn't my name that was called that I didn't register the name of the winner. :D

Someone from CT, IIRC. SDC member?

I was glad I didn't win after all, since the car was falsely advertised on the ticket- "2WD Hardtop":D

Would be cool to know who won, and what they plan to do with the car...

What do you mean? It's a 2 Wheel Drive hardtop. :)

Actually it was advertised as a '64 Lark Daytona, which is technically incorrect, I suppose. Maybe the winner will refuse it and they'll have to draw again!

I was looking at my tickets for next year's raffle car, and it is listed as a "1982 Studebaker Avanti". Oops.

Was it not a 2 wheel drive hardtop?

If it has Twin-Traction, then it is two-wheel drive. ;)

Yes Neil, but I assumed I was buying tickets on a 4WD Lark Daytona with the Ford 289 engine, like I was told most of them were. Seems reasonable to assume, right???:D

The individual who won is an AACA member soon to be a Studebaker member, a requirement when you win a Keystone car. :):):) Will pick it up this week, I think. He lives in Wallingford, CT and his name is Gary Faldanado. Was extremely surprised when contacted on Sunday but very excited at the same time. Sorry ReRun the car has left the state[xx(][xx(][xx(]

I checked with a couple of friends who live in Wallingford and they don't know him. I couldn't find him on the 'net or the book. Are you sure that's how you spell his name?

No I am not. I did this based on the call we made on Saturday. I'll get the correct spelling of his last name. All of the other info is correct. Ticket was purchased at Fall Hershey.

Well, I was also very disappointed that I didn't win it. I owned the car from 1975 to 1977. If I had won, it would have been a second "rerun". Oh well, my brother lives in Connecticut and not far from Wallingford. So maybe I'll get to see it again someday in my travels while visiting up there.

It's Connecticut, nothing is very far from anything else!

Here's the ticket. It sounds like Gary does not want to sell the car.
I have obscured his address and phone for his sake.

Congrats to Gary and I wish him nothing but joy and fun that comes with Studebaker ownership. Maybe some of our SDC members who live in the area can welcome him to their local chapter and gain the national club another great Studebaker owner.

Well, I've had 1WD cars before and I definitely prefer 2WD :)
