Bought her thinking of rat rodding her, but am having second thoughts after looking closely at how original and straight she is. I have her listed on Craigs List for $3K, but am open to offers.

Ad and lots of pics here:

Looks nice... :) FYI there is a very active SDC Chapter in the Portland area - here is their web site as someone there may have a lead on the next owner.

Got any pics of the interior and the engine compartment?

What a little honey. Never seen poverty caps on a Cruiser before, but they go pretty well with the radio delete plate. Many thanks for posting - and for trying to find this one a proper Studebaker home.

Radio delete as well...I'd drive it as is - has great character. I'd be all over it if it were on the East Coast...

Actually, this car is a two-owner car, as I recall. Provided of course, it's the same car I saw two years ago. At the time the lady was asking about six grand for it. I told her it was a bit of an... ambitious price for a six-automatic-four-door. Seems she inherited the car from her mother who was reputedly the original owner. Since, under club rules, that makes her the original owner; therefore you are the second owner.;) The car looks much the same now as it did then. I.I.R.R. the car's lived the majority of its life in dry, eastern, Oregon. Did she include the service records with the car? She mentioned them to me.

All the best on your auction. If that front seat is as you say, then the car's price is worth it just for the interior.;)

Thanks to everybody who has responded so far - good info for sure.

Ron: This is very likely the same car, and based on your comments, I guess I'd better take an hour or two and carefully untie and remove the sheepskins to see what the front seats actually look like. From what I've been able to see and feel, they seem almost 100%, but as is often said, a pic is worth, well, you know what I mean.

If she doesn't sell, my plan is to paint the wheels to match the interior and add some spyder caps and trim rings. The body will get the matte black treatment with traditional hot rod pinstripes on the hood and deck in dark copper, off-white, and maybe a little red.

I'm thinking this would make a cool little 4 door cruiser (or Crusier, I guess), with the option to sand it down and repaint if someone wanted to take it back to stock.

Ideas/comments, anyone?
