Brad,

Please post a picture of the York raffle car so that I can get use to what it will look like sitting in my driveway after they pull my name with the winning ticket.

Thanks,

Thanks, great pictures. It looks like the weather is better than what the Northeast has been getting for the last few weeks. I wish I could be there, tell Mike Myer, Linda, Jon and Betty hello for me.

John,
Wish I could be there too. Haven't seen the or talked to Myers since Cedar Rapids. I'll have to find out from Mike when I can get in line to have my '63 R2 restored. I would love to see yours when it's finished. Maybe I can come by and have a look or, you could stop by here on your way home after you pick it up. From the photos on their web it looks great, would love to hear what it sounds like on the freeway.

Hahahaha! Thats good!! Although, one of those nice shiny NOS ones would look good on my car; but I don't get to hit my head on them, so maybe it doesn't have to be so clean to avoid infection.[:o)]:D

Is this York Stude swapmeet larger than the National Stude swapmeet that was at Cedar Rapids last year? Is the May South Bend swapmeet typically the same size as York?

I know Studeguy (Denny Foust) and Avantidon (Don Jones) didn't make it to the group picture because they were in a meeting to arrange the Atlantic Zone Meet and AOAI International Meet, to be held July 13-16, 2011 at Eisenhower Inn, Gettysburg, PA.

You heard it here first.

I had a great time even though I spent only two bucks at the swap meet! (on decal sheets from old AMT Avanti kits, to have some "Studebaker signage" to put on my scale dealership building here in my office!)

I rode with Barnlark and was glad to meet Jerry Forrester, Guido, and Frank Drumheller (and others whose names escape me at the moment). Great to see BAMS50 too...I had met him once before but only briefly. It was good to see Rerun (Jim B.) and Dustybob and Chester and Madd Doodler and others from the Pennsylvania contingent too. Probably the most-enjoyable York meet I've been to in a long while. Great time at the Truck Farmers' Dinner and sitting next to Dennis Lambert, I enjoyed several great stories of South Bend when Studebaker was still in production and shortly afterwards too.

I wish that one vendor would have sold me the NOS red Lark front floormats my '63 so sorely needs! He was looking for NOS black ones to trade for, though. I got his email address though, so maybe I can still try and buy them!

Tip: If you ever want a great steak, prime rib or seafood in a casual atmosphere, try Coombs' Tavern on Pennsylvania Avenue, only a few blocks from the fairground, and the street is practically just across Carlisle Avenue from the north (main) fairgrounds entrance. I love the place (as the photo above probably verifies...time to do something about that I guess!!).

That's actually a '65. Only way I could tell was from behind, it had the '65 trim between, and underneath, the taillights.

I thought that M might have been the buy of the meet at $14.5K. It was a clipped custom with Chevy power and A/C. Built in 1993 and still looked great, which is a testament to a quality build. Looked completely sorted and well cared for. Personally I'd chrome the bumpers and grille and enjoy. Wonder how low he'd have gone...?

Ed Ellis' 2R next to the M sold the instant Ed opened the door and quoted a price. Of course it was slightly modifed- a supercharged 259 and a car four-speed.

Yes. Factory colors. The most common combo on the '55 Speedster. I believe it's Vally yellow, and Hialeah green. This car was a true Speedster and immaculate. I don't think it sold; owner was asking $60,000!

look closely at the window sign on the 53 coupe. Either $11,500.00 or $16,500.00.

I had to take off first thing Saturday morning and I think Ed was gone too. He spent a lot of time at Rick Eierman's spaces and I didn't see him Saturday morning.
It was really getting busy- took me five minutes to work my way back from the trash can at the door to my spaces 50 feet away. Maybe the date change thing worked for Keystone.

It was $11,500 with a six and a right side door that didn't line up too well.

The deal of the day was a Hawk with most the parts around it in boxes for $1,800. Sorry I didn't take a pic of that. Real nice guy, sold it on the first day.

It's too bad that the swap meet photos and group shot don't come with the people's names, then maybe those of us on the Left half of the Country could put some faces to names. [^]

I did see two ex-West Coasters in a pic though, Jon and Mike Myer, funny how their name ALWAYS ends up as Meyers! :)

Brad, thanks for taking the time to post the Forum picture. I am truly sorry that Denny and I were not available to attend the photo session.

As brad state we were in a meeting finalizing the 2011 SDC Atlantic Zone meet and the 2011 AOAI International Meet to be held at the same time at the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center in Gettysburg PA during the period of 07/13-16/2011. We are planning many surprises and great features for this "Return to Gettysburg" Meet. Mark your calendars now as this is a meet you will not want to miss.

Again I apologize for not being able to be a part of the good looking crew that gathered at 11:00 on Saturday:D:D

I'm near the centre of that group shot, bracketed by Leonard above and Brad below...sea-blue T-shirt that reads "Don't Drive Impaired, Drive Totally Stude"...:D

That '60 Hawk project car found a new owner here in Ontario who also has a '61 project Hawk. Got some pix of it being loaded and trailered out.

I took lots of pix (as ever) but they're not online yet...had a tremendous time, great cars, great weather, great company. Great food too (notably at Coomb's)...I'll be back!
