I just found a 3.54 TT in my stash that I had forgotten I had.
It's a Dana 44 with 9 inch brakes. I am pretty sure it came out of a '53 C coupe. Is this something I should bring to York and how much should I ask for it?
Thanks for any help with this.

I think 1953 is too early for a TT to have been factory installed.

Okay.
What was the first year for the TT?
Since it has 9 inch brakes, I was thinking '53.

Sounds like maybe someone possible changed the backing plates and put on those 9 inch brakes.

Yeah, I guess a lot can happen in 50+ years. But it is a TT and it is a 3.53.

Jerry, Tom Karkiewicz had a 44TT at Lancaster, complere drum-to-drum, tapered axles, for either $150 or $200. By the time I decided to buy it it was gone[:I]

TT was introduced in '57 I think; you can tell it is a '57 because it'll have the tapped holes in the housing for you to grease the bearings - later ones will not. I don't know that there's any significant differences other than that; I've always been curious if the spring pads were welded on at the exact same angle but have not had the opportunity to compare two side by side.

It should not be to hard to figure out what happened, back some time ago the owner picked up a TT 3.54 rear end and put it under his c/k 53 but not wanting to spend more just used his old brake system no brainier there ,stranger things have happened over the years past..Bob

That wasn't his, that was mine sitting behind his bus, Bob. I wanted $175. Good thing I didn't sell it, it's going in my Lark with new axles. [^]

BTW, I'd bring it to York. It should sell for sure.

Jerry,that is tapered,right? I would love a flanged 3:54 TT.That would put me solidly in the 12's.

Yeah, tapered.
If it was flanged, I am sure I would have already used it or I would have sold it long, long ago.;)
