  • Choke heat tube

Just got a newer (afb) style manifold for my 289 V8.
I have an Edelbrock 500 cfm on the car, with a manual choke.

I assume the line in the pic is the choke heat tube
line? Should I just remove it and seal the hole?

    Thanks,

    Joe D.

The tubes extending out the top are removable and the u-shaped tube can stay in place and you won't need to seal the holes.

The other thing you may want to consider is blocking those crossover passages entirely and removing the heat riser valve on the exhaust. Plenty of previous threads on the subject. If you do that then bend the u-shaped tube out of the way or cut and crimp it.
