License Plate Bracket

To what does the license plate bracket attach under the trunk lid handle on a 1950 Champion? Is it to attach somehow to the trunk handle under the light. Or, are holes drilled into the trunk lid under the light for bolts on which to hold the bracket?

A picture of an attached bracket without the license plate, so I can see how it attaches would be great. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I believe it is attached with the studs that hold the handle to the trunk.

It is attached with the trunk handle. It goes on two of the same studs used to attach the handle
