Notice the "Hemi Powered" on the hood. The door says S & C Speed Shop, (can't make out city), but I see a NY for New York.

It would be interesting to know what big block Mopar Hemi this guy is running?

The Henry J is interesting too, but I love that Champion gasser!

Well in "A" Gas Class, this is NOT a small Hemi! [^]

This gasser is stabled just outside Buffoonalo. This picture was taken at the Lancaster drag strip, right on Interstate 90 east of Buffoonalo, a very old and well run facility. Jeff Rice took the picture and talked at length with the owner. In fact, I believe Jeff still has a number of pictures of the car. We were there for Gasser Madness and it was AWESOME. We talked to this fella in the staging lanes & watched this car run. I dunno which version Hemi he's running, but I can tell you it was BIG & FAST! The car is all race car, minimal stock Studebaker there and it's been thoroughly "Swiss cheesed". It IS a beautiful gasser example.

Sonny, I've raced there- on the oval track. Never seen drags there. The oval was fast as h*** even with worn out pavement. You may know of Spencer Speedway, about an hour east of there; same deal- oval track/drag strip. Raced there a few times as well- tricky, paper-clip-style track. As with Lankster, never seen a drag race there.
