Aw, that's pretty...reminds me of Joanne Holman Calder's '59 Silver Hawk, except this one's got the colours in the other order (grey over silver) from Joanne's (silver over grey). Joanne's car is for sale currently.

            Both cars are very nice.

              Gary--

Guessing Civil War battlefield? Ours was War of 1812...Battle of Stoney Creek. A post-War of 1812 (but not by much) house in the park is now a museum. A local car club ran a cruise there Friday nights in 2008 and for a few weeks at the start of 2009 before the cruise unfortunately folded. This August '08 cruise there is still the only time I've seen Joanne's Hawk at a show!

BTW, I'll probably eventually join your toy-Stude group. I have a small stall at an antique market north of town, thinning my herd of model airplane kits; last time I was there adding inventory I chanced on a circa-1960 tin toy E-series Studebaker cement mixer, pale green, in fairly decent nick for $15...it had to go home with me! That's about the fourth vintage Stude toy I've collected. Got a good few of the modern collectible diecasts too. (Somewhere I also have the Husky, I think, '64 Wagonaire ambulance I had when I was a kid and the actual car was still fairly new)...

                Steve,
You are correct. The town of Battlefield and the Battlefield Mall are named after the Civil War Battle of Wilsons Creek. The Battlefield is a few miles from Springfield. A neat place to visit and will be a tour for the 2011 International Meet.

Your toy find sounds like you made out pretty good. We'd love to have you join us in the Toy Studebaker Collectors Club. Send me your mailing address via email and I'll send you a copy of the Newsletter.

That is so sweet. If only my 59 looked a fraction of that oh well it is on the list of things to get to

Hi Gary. I too would like to join your toy club. Can the fees be paid electronicly? It is a bit of trouble sending funds overseas now.
Regards, Dave Pink. Australia. PS, I tried to use the email link But it does not work for me!

                        Hi Dave,
I do not have a way to accept payment electronicly. Other members from Australia have been sending me Money Orders in US funds now for several years.

                          Great car!
That may be my new favorite Hawk color scheme.

                          Help....

I'm new to the world of Studes and need some Hawk ID training.

                          This is a 59, correct?
I see the fin trim is different thna the 57s (like the 2-17 "After dinner mint" post).

                          Were there other variations?
I saw a car on TV with fin trim like this wand was wondering what year(s) it was.
Couls someone post 57 through 61 photos?

                          Thanks.
