I don't know why it posted twice but I deleted the second.

Hey, I spotted something interesting! I have a '63as well, and your coil is mounted to the top of the block, where mine is attached to the firewall. I wonder if this was a running design change?

The coil on the 63 Lark I used to own was also mounted on the engine.

My '63 Cruiser is long gone but the coil is still mounted to the passenger rear corner of the intake.

Checked a pic taken in 61 of my 62/289 Daytona. Coil on the rt. rear of the intake. Was a fun car I wish I still had it. Used to give the brand xxxx'rs fits at the stop light drags.

Clark; 1957 and older and "C" cab Truck intake manifolds did not have the mounting holes for the coil and were firewall mounted. So one possibility is that at one time it had a earlier intake or complete engine! With as many miles as that car has to have the way it destroyed the upper "A" arms, I would say it's possibly had several engines.

Actually Rich, I think you're halfway right [)]

The engine in my car is original; the serial matches the build sheet. BUT it's got the 535661 WCFB manifold. Maybe it's off a truck! That would explain that, at least
