The pace car certainly had a boring dismal paint color. I thought the idea of a pace car was to get people's attention! Yellow or bright red would have been a more appropriate choice.

I would like to know what happened to them..
There was more than one I believe and as far as I know
          none have ever been found.

          I'm hopeing someone disputes this.

          Dean.

The women or the cars? Some of the women are probably still around....

Maui blue is actually a pretty nice color. And the interior is red..so that would pop a bit. It's a poor photo.
I'm glad I live in todays world and not back then when everything black, white, or sepia.

I've played with old yellowed color pictures before so I tried tweaking this one too. Knowing the car is supposed to be pale blue helped.

                  Here's the result.

Compare to the original ST2DE5 posted.

More work and a higher res scan would get it better yet.

                    50 Champ,
                    The car of course.
I think in this particular photo they picked women that would not take away from the beauty of the car.

Dean, That is one of the most diplomatic statements I have ever heard. You should be a speech writer.

"Was Notre Dame coed in 1952?"

That was my thought too. What about the other college across the road from ND, on the west side?

                            Thanks Doug,
Being from Texas it took quite some time for me to develope this ability.

Even today sometimes it escapes me, allways at the wrong time.

Notre Dame became co-ed in 1972. The women's school across the street is St. Mary's College...
