Actually, I failed! I even tried to delete the topic but nothing happened...and I was logged in.

Strictly GRAPHICALLY speaking, these are definitely the BEST! [^]

This one of the '64 Daytona has more light on it, so it looks the best. [] I am sure my prejudice FOR '64 Daytonas' had NOTHING to do with it!

The first one of the '63 Daytona Skytop would have been OK, but it looks like a wide angle lens was used too close, so the left front corner is distorted.

I think I would like that shade of blue on my '64 Daytona. Very nice. Is that its original color?

Thanks. The car was built in the factory, dark color called Strato Blue, but this car's repaint is--don't know a better way to say it--more 'electric' or vivid than the original hue.

              Bill,

I think that we should "Photoshop" the pictures and put the '64 in front of Filer's.

Jim, that would be cool, since it was delivered there new! From what photos I've seen, the place looked very much the same in '64 as in the black-and-white '47 photo, except for ivy growing on the top of the front of the building, and neon "LARK" and "USED CARS" signs in the windows.

BTW, great photo of your Avanti! I think the rear of the Avanti looks great but is seldom seen.

Thanks for Barnlark for setting this up for technology-challenged me! Also thanks to Barnlark for taking the photo of the '63, and for GTJoe for taking the photo of the '64 (and also cleaning it up for me as a surprise when I was out-of-town!)

Milaca; if you want to see what '64 Strato Blue SHOULD look like, there is a very good glimpse of some of it on the very nice '64 Cruiser next to the Brooks Stevens prototype '65 Cruiser [^] [], it's Craig's 2nd. and 5th. Photo, here:

Hey Bill, maybe there is a way to get the 64 on a car carrier in front of Flier's , and then a picture of the car in front of Flier's, almost like going back in time and then a picture of you getting the keys from Carl, in it would be like you were the first owner it sure would be a nice photo tribute when you show the car,BTW, when I took the pictures that day it has just stopped raining and there was a rainbow in the backround.

I wet sanded the car a couple of times, then I used a 3M rubbing compound that is just made for dark colors, and 3M polish and then a wax that gives it depth, so it makes the car look a lot closer to the orinigal OEM shade of Starto Blue if Bill looks at his orinigal pictures of the car he will see the diffrence, "there only oringnal once" .
