Well we are half way through our crazy trip to California. We are sitting in the airport in San Jose waiting for our flight to go see our folks down in the southern part of the state.

So far we have gone out to the Sacramento area and met Sal. We had a great visit and he made us a deal we couldn't refuse on a '56 Sky Hawk. (are we crazy or what?) We will post some pictures soon.

Next we met Peter Miller and visited and talked about his '62 hot rod Lark! What a cool car. As far as I can tell it has no rust!:D I wish all Larks were that solid! He started it up for us, after we got the battery to play nice, and it sounds great! I'll post some video and pics of that as well.

Last night after being at Fisherman's Wharf all day we were headed out of the city and I spied a blue Daytona outside Jack's Bar. Well we had to stop in and visit. I had a beer and Rose had an Irish coffee. We visited, took some pictures of the memorabilia, and got to see the art work for the next T shirt. I bought a T shirt and a hat, and we were off! John and Tracy Smith had posted a while back from their trip so I was on the lookout! http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=34333

We are having a great time, and meeting some great Stude people!

Sounds FUN, I like it when we can tie STUDEBAKERING into our vacations. Enjoy yourselves.

Don't have so much fun that you decide to stay out there. We want you back. Meanwhile keep reporting.

Fred and Rose... you guys are great. It was wonderful visiting with you both. One word of caution for all who may encounter Rose when she's "on the hunt" for Studebaker stuff. STAY OUT OF THE WAY! ! ! ! She goes full bore. She was crawling in through and under that Sky Hawk checking it out. Realize that it was parked in the most inopportune spot in the entire barn. Buried in the corner, actually. But it was a nice visit and why did you have to tell them I gave you a deal??? Now everyone will be expecting one. JK

Fred and Rose, it was a pleasure. Glad to hear you liked the Lark. Best of luck with the Sky Hark. I hope you can find a way out to Arizona in June. Safe travels and Merry Christmas.

You missed out. While you were in Sacramento you should have visited the California Automobile Museum. They have the number 9 Avanti on display there. In a few more weeks, we will be displaying seven of our club cars for the monthly Car Club Cavalcade.

Oh, most definately so. When you leave please don't forget that age-old California tradition; PLEASE take someone with you?;)[:o)]

By the by, it won't be much longer before representatives from the People's Republic of California will have completed their takeover of the government. Soon, all of the United States will be as wonderful a place as here.[}:)] Wah, ha, ha, ha, ha, haaaaaa![}:)]

It was great meeting and talking with you. We really enjoyed seeing the car as well.

I posted some pics and video of our visit. My little speakers don't do the exhaust note justice...
