    Hello everybody,

I want to thank you all for the help and knowledge you guys have share with me. I decide to do everything original (Power steering and Brakes). Today I remove everything the mechanic left half way done on the custom PS setup ( it did not look safe) and the disc brake were ok but I thimk the car have more value if I leave stock brakes, and I putted all the front suspension from my parts car and thank god everything went well and it was just plug and play. Now my next move is to install the original drum brake setup that does not look too complicate.

I need to get for the brakes:

    Clean the drums
    all new 4 cylinders.
    all new 3 brake hose.
    Master Cylinder
    all new brake shoes.

Am also doing new custom PS hose so one side fits chevy PS PUMP and the other side the steering gearbox.

    Here are some pics:

am guessing the front brake hoses are the same as the rear one because advance auto parts have the same part# for front and rear.

          Can anybody confirm this please?

I found this kit of hoses on ebay for what i think is pretty good price, I wonder if is same quality they sell in Auto part for $20 each.

this kit brings the 3 of them for $19+9 shipping

Yes, same hose front and rear. Even so, take the old one to the store with you to compare.
Nice car. I think you are doing the right thing returning the steering and brakes to stock.

You answered your own question here:

Yes they are the same Front & Rear, BUT not on YOUR car!

Well am done with the front brake and suspension, we just need to bleed them. We are still rewiring all front end and dash board electricity to a fuse box that we bought at a local junk yard, im putting everything through a fuse. We also took all the stainless moldings to start prepping the car for paint. Here are some pictures:

We cleaned the drums and painted it red inside and install new cylinder and shoes:

We painted the exterior of the drum black:

This is going to be the A/C condenser that we are going to install:

some of the rewiring we have done, everything have being done with heat shrink, spaghetti cover.

                    without any molding:

How did you get the stainless trim out of the rubber in the rear windshield?

it was a little hard since is really in there we didnt want to apply to much pressure to bend the molding or damage the weather seal so we use a rubber screwdriver and with pressure it came of, the front windshield was the hardest one to take out. I do have to replace all molding clips when am ready to put them again.

You might want to check the pressure that Chevy PS pump puts out against the pressure needed by the stock PS set up. I don't know if it is an issue, but it could be. There are aftermarket adjustable PS pressure valves available if the Chevy pump puts out more than the stock set up wants.
