I found some of my lost albums and thought someone might like to see some of them. As I get the photos unstuck from the albums I plan to scan some and post them.
This one was taken the summer of 1966 just after my brother and I arrived back at home from camping in the Ozarks. That is my very tired 59 Lark VI w/overdrive. Yes, the camper and boat made for an interesting drive through the mountains. [:0]

This not only proves that a Studebaker can pull a trailer, but a boat with it as well.

Love the Pic. I too had a '59 4 door VI that year. I graduated High School in '66 and drove that car all through college.Mine was very tired also when I traded it off in 1970.
Sure would love to have another one some day.

Mine got an overhaul at the local vocational school the next fall. It ran much better after that, but since it had come to Arkansas from Michigan the body was slowly disappearing.

So why is it that everyone thinks they need a truck to pull a camper these days. Today's 4 bangers have almost the same power as the 8's in the 50's, and today's 6's scream!

From deep in the Ozarks...

Thanks for sharing the photo, bring on more. I like older photos of cars in their original environment.

That is the exact same setup my Poppa had in 1969 but with the weight of my four uncles in the back. The car went from Conn. to California and back I believe.

When we crossed the Buffalo River and climbed out of the valley I think my brother could have walked beside the car, but we made it. High adventure for a couple of high school boys.
