That car is in tough shape, but a very worthy project. Don't recall having ever seen a '64 convert in that color. I wonder how rusty the frame is.

That is the correct '64 Jet Green Metallic same as the nice '64 GT Hawk that we were watching last week.

Speaking of that Jet Green, I think it looks much better on a GT Hawk than a Daytona convertible. However its always refreshing to see like cars in a variety of colors. If all Daytona converts were painted red, they would all look the same. :)

Dave, I think what Bob meant is that the pictures that show the surroundings look very similar to northern MN. I agree, it does have an up North look to it.

I'm sure that you are further north Dave. [8D] My latitude is the same as the boundary between North and South Dakota. You may be farther north, but it is probably much colder here tonight as it is currently -6 degrees here.

Yeah, it might have come from up North but if I have my way by Wednesday it will probably be coming down south, down under! The production order says it was delivered new to Virginia and the guy who own's it reckons it has never left the state.

Studebaker don't need to see salt for them to rust. All it takes is for rain to enter through the trunklid to make the trunk floor rust out, and water to leak by a cracked windshield gasket or side window weatherstripping for interior floors to rust out. If pine needles get washed down into the doors, the drain holes get plugged and the doors rust out. If it was parked in tall grass for a long period of time, the moisture from the grass will rust out the car on the underside.

A bit more north than Bob A. but I'll bet that you don't get the far below zero readings that we get or the 100+ inches of snow that Bob gets in a Winter. This is more of a jealous statement than anything. It also shows that weather is not all about north and south. I just heard that parts of Texas had lower high temperatures today than we had, but the cold is heading this way.

I just won the bid on the car and it will be going to Australia. Brian called me within a minute of my snipe bid winning the auction (it is 8 AM in Melbourne) and is happy to be getting the car after missing out on a couple of other '64 convertibles.

Here is an album of pictures I took last week when I visited the owner to check it out for Brian:

Congrats on finally getting your car, buddy!! How cool is it that you can find a good guy on the other side of the earth to look at and bid on something for you?[^] Good job Guido!

Yep, thanks to Guido we finally obtained one and Bob Palma has since informed me it is the only one with that colour combo, so it is one of one. Anyway thanks also for offering to help Bob it is very good of you and I hope we can catch up next year. Regards Brian.

Cool score, got to love those convertibles. My 64 Cruiser is Jet Green. Not as rare as a one of one combo, but I still love that color.

Brian, is the car going past Hayward? if so there is a lot of the tin work we could take care of for you for a fee before it leaves the states, or are you into repairing floors and trunk and fenders???. also maybe the frame if it is bad...Bob

No go on this one Bob, I am freighting it out of Indianapolis, plus I have a good doner car back here that I am transfering the trunk floor out off into the convertible. I also bought all of the NOS panels Henry had to replace the bolt-on's. But I do need a tacko and a rear backseat centre armrest to suit the 61 hawk that you dropped off for me. Do you have any? Regards Brian

My computer died two weeks on Monday. I took it at Best Buy and the hard drive was good, but the motherboard was gone, so I bought a HP Pavilion Elite with 64-bit with 8GB. It was $799.00. The old hard drive was good, but they won't put on my old hard drive, because the new hard drive has something that won't put from my old hard drive, so they put the auxiliary hard drive, and they said that it works I haven't found my Excell or Microsoft word. I can't find my pictures. I am dead in the water!
