1955 president with engine block # RI952 Can anyone tell me in forum land is this the orignal engine?:):):):)

Studebaker used an I for a 1. This would make the number R1952. That number would be for an Avanti R1 engine. My guess is that your number is P1952 which would be a 1955 President 259 V8. That tells you that it is a correct engine for the car. To find out if it is the original engine, you will need to order the car's build sheet from the SNM.

Looked again PL1952.Doesn't match the build sheet.

Per our V-8 Engine I.D. list here:

It is a Los Angeles Assembled '55 President 259 V-8.
