  • Hot little truck (at one time)

Sad story, looks like it was a neat rig at one time:

Hmmm... maybe it could find a second (or third) life as a demo for automobile safety do and don'ts. [}]

I like the Master Lock hood latch. I think it was hottest just before the fire was put out.

Sad to see! Reading his story leads me to believe that he was using an electric fuel pump. That emphasises the need to build in some kind of safety shut off switch to prevent the electric pump from feeding the fire should one occur!

Yes, I used to see this truck driven regularly. He filled the cab in a "Biggsy" sorta way,[] left elbow always poking out the window.[^]

By the sound of it, there's very little Studebaker here. Is there anything salvageable from such a fire? I wouldn't mind having the bed... but Atascadero is a long way to drive, Dang it![B)][8]

I didn't notice that! Maybe not having the key handy is why he couldn't get in and snuff the fire

It looks like it might have been an excellent chassis upgrade... I bet it worked well (before it got hot[|)])

Man, why did you hafta go and post this? If what champtrucking puts up is called "Eye Candy" This should be called "Eye Rotten Vegatables" or something. Bummer.

                  but the price seems reasonable

I'd be very interested to see how much alteration it took to mount that cab on the 'burban frame...
