I think there was talk about fuel pumps leaking gas around the pin area.and that the origional carter pumps do'nt have that problem.maybe someone can set me straight.

At least from my experience, the newer Airtex pumps that are available from your local flaps leak oil around and from the actuating lever pivot pin. The old Carter glass bulb pumps have little aluminum caps that cover each end of the pivot pin to prevent leakage.
