Hello,
This is kind of an odd request, but I am getting married the end of the month in Southbend IN at the Studebaker Mansion, and was looking for a Studebaker for hire to transport my bride and I to the nearby Marriot Hotel (roughly a mile away). If anyone is interested please contact my via email. Thanks

Dave

Dave,

Hiring someone with an antique car can be problematic from an insurance standpoint. However, perhaps someone local would be willing to help you out in exchange for a gift to a charity of their choice.

There is an excellent 1961 Cruiser in South Bend that is for sale in this month's Turning Wheels. Try contacting them. Most people that have collector car insurance shy away from charging for use of their cars. You should have both the correct insurance and a proper driver's license (Class E in NY) to drive a car for hire.

Edit - Contact the Museum about using one of their cars.

One potential problem may be if it snows in South Bend and they apply road salt, then nobody will want their Studebaker on the road. Aside from that, it would be a great photo oppurtunity for a Studebaker. Perhaps a Turning Wheels cover photo of the bride & groom and the Studebaker?

If there was no snow or road salt,I would do it,but you would have a real had time being my car is a two door with a roll bar to contend with! Maybe Diesel Jim on his son could help out.Or Tom Molnar. He has quite a few Studebakers.Look for him in the South Bend phone book under Molnar Septic in the Lakeville In area.
