Got one yesterday. I love the regular catalog- it's always right next to my keyboard on my desk; so the Christmas edition is much appreciated! 44 pages of goodies to look at, and in a design you can fold open to a specific page and <<AHEM>> leave laying around for the family to see in <<AHEM>> plenty of time to order for Christmas gift giving;)

Don't know how you do it, SI, but thanks yet again!![^]

Why would there need to be discounted items?? That's a bonus, not a requirement.

You can always get a 10% discount by spending over $500, or 15% over $1000. You can also get a restorer's package and save 15% off. That's the best deal I know of in the hobby!

Contrary to current popular belief, it's not a crime to make a profit!;)

I know the catalogs are expensive, but despite earning the 15% discount in'07, I'm apparently not a high enough roller to qualify for ANY of the coveted catalogs. Oh well - I guess its all online.

Pat, I would guess it's just an oversight- what did they say when you contacted them?

Bob, I haven't contacted them about it. I didn't take a catalog at the booth in Cedar Rapids because they said I would be getting one soon. To be honest I kind of forgot about it until this thread. Maybe I'll give 'em a call on Monday - I could use some good news.

I called in an order on Wed. this week and recieved it today,Fri,via UPS and had the catalog included in the box. I ask for one when I made the order and got it 2 days later.
I am new to SI and so far have no complaints.

Perhaps you need to make an order at least once a year to receive the next years catalog?

I'm not impying any such thing Pat. [8D] People in glass <s>houses</s> garages should not throw stones. ;) If I dont get back to work on my '64 Daytona soon, the jack stands may rust away.

Usually when we send out a catalog we go back about 3 years and anyone who has made purchases during that time is included on the mailing list. No, we do not go through the list and decide who does and who does not get one, the computer does it for us. Unfortunately, swap meet purchases are not in the computer and so those who only make purchases at swap meets are not automatically sent a catalog. Because of the high cost of mailing, catalogs are only sent out within the U.S.

Our last catalog, sent out this past summer, had many damaged by the Post Office and many didn't receive them although they had been sent. We later mailed many duplicate copies.

I think there is some confusion between the sale catalogs we occasionally send out and our Christmas catalog. The sale catalogs have many items that are marked down but our Christmas catalogs do not. Their main focus is on potential holiday gifts with the intent of stimulating some business during an otherwise slow period.

Thanks to those who have made nice comments about this business!

You have always run a first class operation, Ed. You have saved this club with your business, so all thanks should come from us. [^]
I have now installed one of those bank drive-in vacuum deposit tubes to Greenfield and the new South Bend location directly from my account. You can safely send the next catalog in that. ;)

I want to add my thanks to Ed and verify that if you ask for a missing catalog you will get one, no questions asked. Yes, this is a class operation. Huck, in Detroit
