When you put the Pertronix in did you specify it for a 6v pos ground?

Make sure you have a GOOD ground. I had a few issues with mine at first also.

            55coupe,

I have been thinking about doing this on my little 232 V8. I have just started to research it a little more. Did you use the Igniter I and the 45,000 volt Flamethrower Coil? What were the product numbers you bought?

            Thanks,

            Jim

Studemann glade to share this with you. Ignitor part #1183p6, flame thrower 0.6 ohm coil 45000 volt 12volt universal coil. I was told the coil does not care if its used by 6 or 12 volts part #45011.I haven't done any driving yet, looking foward to a drive on Sunday.

The Pertronics units sure work I was just about to give up on my 65 as it would run one day and sputter the next. I had to drop HEI in my dads bowtie truck cuz the points system simply could not generate a hot enough spark to start it on this crap that is called gasoline now. I I did to the truck is replace the high compression heads that he had cracked for some rebuild non cracked ones and the treuck would not fire.

I did not have that option with a 194 because 250 heis are hard to find.

The pertronics did the trick and I kept thed stock ignition coil even.
