Does anyone know when the SASCO inventory will be available from S.I.?

I ordered 2 doors from SASCO today. They said it would Monday before they could ship. My wife wants us to go get them. So she could eat at Tippecanoe's.

You "...ordered...from SASCO today."? I thought that SASCO was out of business.

According to Ed R. the SASCO phones were rerouted to SI, so how did you call SASCO? And if you reached SI, how do you know the difference between previous SASCO and previous SI inventory? I don't have any idea what difference the original owner of inventory makes if it is all to be available.

I hope you have a better experience at Tippecanoe than we did. It was long on atmosphere and disappointingly short on food quality the last time I was there- and I mean the LAST time. The manager flat refused to replace our overpriced but totally inedible sir loin steaks. And, good luck gettiing those doors from SASCO!

Barry,
Are you in a mood today?
Your from Texas... anywhere else you buy a Steak will not compare.

Funny, the best steak I've ever had was in Texas, as was the best service, so I agree, Barry.
At Tippecanoe I didn't get either of those. I had the worst waitress ever. Food was so-so.. by the time I actually got it. [V]
I loved being inside there, though. Thick history in there.

I didn't know they were shipping parts from SB, already. Cool. I can't wait to get back there for the official opening this winter. S.I.SCO? ;)

Good steak is where you find it, but I confess, one of the best I ever had was in a run-down road house place in Texas. Maybe it was just cause I was starving and had been living on fast food for months at the time. But the series of signs leading up to the place - not to mention the super-reasonable price - had me salivating when I parked my Champ and went inside![:p]

Ain't never treated myself to Tippi-candoo and I guess I never will.:(

I have to differ with you gentlemen. The best steaks I ever ate , were Kansas steaks. So tender you could cut them with a fork

You want a REAL steak go to the Cowboy dinner tree in Silver lake Oregon. They ARE out in the country but if there's anyone close, and that term is relative, it is really worth the drive. Abot 90 miles out in the desert from Bend.

It's funny how a post will start on subject like parts and end up talking about steaks ;) I like the Big Texan in Amarillo :)

Didn't SASCO have buffalo steaks? You'd better run and hide Bison!!

I could care less about steaks. You can buy those anywhere. I want to buy some rear quarter panels for my 1957 Wagon! Try and find those at the steak house!

It's funny how far off topic this thread has gotten. I thought it was about SASCO/SI and the transfer and availability of inventory. It was a smart move on Ed's part to keep the SASCO numbers and reroute to Greenfield for the present. I know all shipping will be done from Greenfield so there will be trips back and forth daily.

Oh, I wish I had words to express the visual pics in my poor little head of rear quarter panels I have seen in restaurants! Disgusting, just disgusting. :)

Had dinner there the night I bought my wife's '55 E7 pickup. The guy next to me was trying to eat an 8 pound steak in 30 minutes or some such nonsense in order to get it free. He failed, but it sure was fun to watch!

I had the small steak (still huge) and it was pretty good!

My favortie steak is at a local joint just down the road from my house here in Long Beach (Naples), CA. It's called Kelley's and it's been there for over 50 years. Back when they had matchbooks it said on the back "Why eat in a restaurant when you can DINE in a saloon?" My kind of place. Perfect steaks every time!

How do you get a wife that fired up about new doors?

Got to hand it to Ed Reynolds. Our parts division has hit the ground many a time, but by golly we hit the ground running.

I'm sorry to have to correct all you beefeating gentlemen, but right's right. The best steaks in the world are at Dude's, in Sidney Nebraska. That topic is now closed, since the correct answer has been arrived at.

I bought a 63 trunk lid from SASCO last year, sure glad SI will still have that stuff available. Best steaks I've had were raised by me when I farmed in the 70's in SE Quebec.

I have had nothing but good dealings with SI and look foward to expanding my wish list when everything is sorted out. By the way if your in NC stop at the Pioneer Resterant in Archdale NC and ask for Mike, the owner, to fix you the best steak on the East Coast,Tell him Benny sent you...

Back on topic, anyone know the percentage of the SASCO inventory that is now available?
