  • More IRENE Progress!!! PICS UPDATED!!

    Still making progress, first round of sanding complete with another two coats of PPG Clear applied. Now its time for final assembly sand with 1000, 1500, and 2000 then a three step buff and polish.
    In my spare time I have been finishing up some interior projects also.

      Georgeous! Just georgeous. I was scared when I saw the first photo of the hood, cuz there was something wrong with half of it. Please warn us before you put the chrome on it. That's going to be very shocking!!

              Domenic,as in your earlier post I'm highly impressed.you say you used 2002 clear,not familiar with that.is it a high solids,is it easy to buff?

                Joe, the ppg 2002 is a high solids clear. It depends on which hardener you use as to the possible buffing options. I am using the dcx61 which is recommended by ppg if you plan on wet sanding and buffing. There is a different hardener that I used on the underneath of the car that makes the clear chip proof. The only draw back to it is if you plan on wet sanding and buffing you have to do it within 24 hours or the clear is to hard to buff. With the 2002 and the dcx 61 it remains much softer and allows for future sanding and buffing. I hope to start that next week. I will let you know how it comes out.
