  • For StudeRich (New Coil)

Well today I finally got around to installing the Pertronix Ignition and new coil I bought from StudeRich this past spring. I amazed myself in that the changeover went smoothly and the truck fired right up after completion (unusual for me.[:I])

Since my Transtar has a 1964 car 289 V8, the ignition coil was mounted on the intake manifold. StudeRich had given me a bit of a bad time about this in the past - so as part of the "conversion", the coil is now mounted in the correct place for a C-Cab with a V8 motor.

He sure runs smooth now.[8D] (And yes, I know the engine compartment needs some serious cleanup! [:0][B)])

For this conversion, did you install a Delco distributor?

The truck had a Delco window distributor when I purchased it... the previous owner was thinking ahead!

I would like to do that to my '63 Hawk.....unless Pertronix begins making a unit for the Prestolite single-points dist.

I believe that for all of the Prestolite distributors the big block Mopar electronic ignition is a drop in direct fit.
