  • Why my driver's door doesn't close right

Driver's door hangs too low. Gotta lift up on the handle when you close it to get it to latch right. Solid A-pillars, so figured the hinges needed aligning. Peeled back the corner of the door panel and this is what greeted me:

I've said it before, I'll say it again... never trust the P.O.

WOW! How did the guy think that would work? I see something that looks like cracking or somethink on the inner door panel. If that is cracked, or rusted out or something wierd, I can cut a good section out of a junk door I got if needed. Probley just the way the picture came up in my monitor though, I hope. Good luck with it!

I don't think thats a crack but just paint lifting (perhaps due to surface rust). Gotta give the previous owner credit for making due with what he had (in his pocket at the time). [8D]

Try lifting on the end of the door,You may need new hinge pins and bushings.

Fred, I think you're right. Feels just like other doors I've had to rebuild the hinges for.
